He fell exhausted while playing an exciting game with a score of 11-11 in the first set. When he gave up the ball, he fell and began to convulse, and before dying, he tried to get up by himself but it was too late.
Users on social media criticized the medical team for taking more than 50 seconds to attend to the athlete. There is a video that shows the lack of attention from the first aid agencies.
The Indonesian Badminton Association, which defended the medical care at the venue, said that they began transporting Zhije to the nearest hospital and arrived within two minutes, but it was too late, Zhije had already died.
