- Konny Reimann usually leaves shopping sprees to his wife Manu.
- But in Chicago, the emigrant fell into a real shopping frenzy.
- A little later Konny subjected his new outfit to a practical test on a genuine ranch.
Well, what regarding it
At first, Konny had only ended up in the shop with the intention of having his maltreated boots repaired. But suddenly fringed leather jackets and belt buckles exerted an unusual attraction on Konny. “But yours is still good, isn’t it?” Manu remarked sheepishly when Konny put on the umpteenth leather jacket. “You have to say that: You buy 140 panties, where I say two are enough,” countered the emigrant. Manu surrendered to her fate and explained with a shrug: “You just have to choose the right shop, then Konny will also become addicted to shopping.”
In the end, Konny himself was quite surprised when he had to pay for the sumptuous purchase. He left a mere 1,600 euros in the shop and finally wondered regarding the novelty in Reimann’s married life: “In our long-standing marriage – we’ve known each other for 450 years – we’ve never had a shopping day like today.”
Konny enjoys cowboy life, but: “The horse needs a break sometimes”
But the new utensils were far from a luxury purchase, as they had to pass a practical test just a few days later. On a ranch in Sundance, in the Wild West state of Wyoming, the Reimanns stayed on Farmer Monte’s sprawling and sloping ranch. “My God, they look fantastic!”, the host was impressed by Konny’s new shoes. Manu, on the other hand, was enthusiastic regarding the “really cool” saloon: “Here you feel like you’re in the Wild West.”
And what are the standard skills of a real cowboy? Sure, lasso swings! So the Reimanns got down to business and had Monte’s helpers show them what is important. Novice Manu managed surprisingly well to catch the metal cattle in the dry run, Konny had a harder time. But a little later he enjoyed the ride on a horse with a broad grin.
“I would do it all evening, but the horse needs a break sometimes,” Konny reveled in the lasso exercises from the horse’s back in the cowboy lifestyle. Despite some difficulties with the fitness tests, the strict farmer Monte saw the Reimanns able to help with the cattle drive the next day. The result can only be seen by the TV audience in the next episode of “Welcome to the Reimanns”.
The Reimanns between wooden sculptures and gold rush
The Reimanns had already collected plenty of souvenirs on their US road trip. In South Dakota, the couple bolstered both their cash and memory accounts. Alongside Rattlesnake Randy, the two succumbed to the gold rush in South Dakota. “I’m not leaving here without finding gold,” Manu trumpeted. And indeed: In the end, a vial with gold flakes worth 20 to 30 dollars jumped out.
Two wooden sculptures that Manu and Konny made in South Dakota probably have more ideal value. With farmer and chainsaw artist Brad, the emigrants used heavy equipment. Konny sawed out a portrait of Manu from a log, which made his sweetheart joke: “What kind of nose do I have? I don’t look like a vulture!” The 54-year-old put on a hand for a cute bear, which Brad judged benevolently: “You did great!” Quality or not: “Manu Lisa” and “Bär-nadette” will certainly remind the Reimanns of happy hours at home in Hawaii.
