The post office is offering the laid-off Fronius employees new jobs. The company announced this on Wednesday. As reported, the technology supplier Fronius announced earlier this week that it would be laying off a further 650 employees due to the poor situation in the photovoltaics division, 450 of them in Sattledt. The number of employees will fall from 8,000 to 7,000 this year.
There are currently around 160 vacancies at the post office in Upper Austria. Employees are sought in logistics centers, delivery, IT and other areas. In 2023, the post office had a turnover of around 2.7 billion euros with 27,254 full-time employees. 52.8 percent of the company belongs to the state holding company Öbag, 47.2 percent is in free float.
