160 train passengers were stuck in the Lieråstunnel

– We have a train standing in the Lieråstunnel. There is a technical error on the train and we believe as of now that we will be able to get the train running again. The train is on its way to Drammen and has a terminus there. There are 160 passengers on board, press officer Siv Egger Westin in Vy told NTB at 5.40pm.

The train that blocked the track leads to delays and cancellations between Drammen and Asker.

Was told to go to another train

Former NTB journalist Gunnhild Hokholt Bjerve was on the train that got stuck in the tunnel. She says that the train stopped in the tunnel a little after 5 p.m., and believes that the train stopped roughly in the middle of the approximately ten kilometer long tunnel.

– They have tried to restart the train set without it making any difference. We received a message that the locomotive driver has managed to locate the problem and is working to solve it, said Bjerve at 5.45pm.

Around three quarters of an hour later, the passengers had to be transferred to another train, but then the train staff got the train moving again and the passengers remained on board. A little before 7 p.m., the train was out of the tunnel and arrived in Drammen a short time later.

Technical error

– There was a technical error on the train set, but it was an error that could be resolved by the personnel on board. That train set will not run any more today and will be checked, says Westin in Vy.

There was also a fault late on Thursday afternoon on one of two tracks in Romeriksporten. Bane Nor reported the error at 17.21, but at 18.11 they write that the error has been corrected. Travelers must still expect delays and cancellations.
