A man who spent 12 days in the Antonio María Pineda Central Hospital, located in Barquisimeto, died of injuries caused by his 16-year-old nephew in the middle of an argument.
The victim, identified as Carlos Pastor Durán, died on January 22.
According to sources linked to the incident, his relative, a 16-year-old teenager, gave him two fatal wounds with a knife.
The incident occurred on January 10 at a residence in the Pila neighborhood of Montezuma. Apparently, those involved started an altercation following the boy used his uncle’s towel without permission.
That night, the two clashed with knives. However, Durán got the worst of it and was transferred by his father to the emergency center. According to witnesses, the minor fled the scene shortly following.
The victim underwent surgery to save her life, however, she remained unconscious since her admission to the hospital, La Prensa de Lara detailed.
Since that night, the teenager has been a fugitive from justice and the authorities are looking for him.
