16-Year-Old Boy Hospitalized After Being the Victim of a Brutal Robbery in Genval

According to the Walloon Brabant prosecutor’s office, a teenager was sent to an institution following committing a violent robbery at a business in Genval. The robbery occurred on Friday evening at a Carrefour Express store on rue de la Tasnière. Two hooded individuals armed with a handgun demanded that an employee give them the contents of the cash register. The employee was struck in the head with the rifle butt and was taken to Delta Hospital in Auderghem. One of the robbers, a 17-year-old boy, was caught by the police and placed in a public youth protection institution following being presented before a Nvellois youth judge. The other robber is still at large.

A teenager was placed in an institution following a violent robbery perpetrated on the eve of the weekend in a business in Genval, in the entity of Rixensart, we learned Monday from the Walloon Brabant prosecutor’s office.

Two individuals burst into the Carrefour Express on rue de la Tasnière on Friday evening around 7:30 p.m. They were hooded and armed with a handgun. Armed, one of the suspects demanded that an employee give him the contents of the cash register.

An employee injured in the head

The attendant was the victim of a violent blow from the rifle butt which was carried to his head. He was taken to Delta Hospital in Auderghem.

The two thugs fled on foot. One of the two was caught by the police. He is a 17 year old boy. The young man was placed at the disposal of a Nvellois youth judge and placed in a public youth protection institution (IPPJ).



The violent robbery perpetrated in a business in Genval is a reminder of how important it is to remain vigilant even in seemingly safe areas. The employee who was injured during the robbery is currently receiving medical treatment at the Delta Hospital in Auderghem. Police were able to catch one of the two suspects, a 17-year-old boy who was placed in a public youth protection institution (IPPJ) following being presented before a Nvellois youth judge. It is hoped that justice will be served swiftly and that the victim of this heinous crime will recover fully.
