16 renewed museums, theaters and other institutions at the Festival of Cultural Spaces Culture

During the festival, which will be held on August 23-25, it will be possible to visit 16 renovated or completely new cultural institutions throughout Lithuania: theaters, museums, libraries, concert institutions.

“With the festival, we are symbolically crowning a particularly intensive stage of renovation of cultural spaces,” Minister Simonas Kairys is quoted as saying in a statement from the Ministry of Culture.

“Although 16 spaces of cultural institutions participate in the festival, their real number is even higher. Several institutions will not participate in the festival due to objective circumstances: intensive preparations for upcoming exhibitions or ongoing contract work. These are the LVSO hall, the Contemporary Art Center, the Žemaitsi Museum “Alka”, he said.

On Friday, the festival will be opened by the Pran Gudynas restoration center, which invites you to three thematic excursions.

On Saturday and Sunday, visitors will be welcomed by the Đžuolynas Library, the exhibition building of Kaunas Fort IX Memorial Complex, the Lithuanian Audiosensory Library, the Museum of Lithuanian Jewish Culture and Identity, the open storage of the Lithuanian Theater, Music and Cinema Museum, the Art Museum of the Radvilė Palace, the Sapiegi Palace, Stasys Museum, Trakai History Museum, Žemaičiai Diocese Museum in Varniai, Klaipėda State Music Theater, four branches of the Lithuanian National Museum: House of History, Pilinink House, House of Signatories in Vilnius and Jonas Šliūpas Museum in Palanga.

On August 24, “Stasys Museum” will host the discussion “Cultural renaissance of regions: utopia or reality?”, which will be attended by artists and cultural managers working in regions and big cities.
