16 people died and 18 others were injured in a terrible traffic accident in Egypt

On Saturday, the Egyptian Ministry of Health announced the death of 16 people and the injury of 18 others, as a result of a terrible traffic accident between the governorates of Suez and South Sinai.

In a statement, the ministry indicated that the traffic collision occurred on the road linking the two governorates, and resulted in 16 dead and 18 injured, according to a preliminary toll, noting that the ambulance service paid 13 ambulances, and all the injured and the bodies of the victims were transferred to the hospital.

She pointed out that “the injuries ranged from fractures, abrasions, cut wounds, and suspected concussion,” adding that “Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Acting Minister of Health, directed the lifting of the medical emergency in Suez and South Sinai hospitals, and summoning all medical teams working in emergency departments.”

The Ministry confirmed the readiness of all hospitals in the vicinity of the accident, the availability of medicines and medical supplies, in addition to the availability of blood and plasma bags, to provide full health care for the injured.
