Mexico City. With an advance of 99.5 percent of the counted polling stations (57 thousand 169 of the 57 thousand 449 expected), the district calculations of the National Electoral Institute (INE) of the mandate revocation exercise showed a participation of 17.69 percent of the nominal list. In other words, 16,427,617 citizens attended the polls in this first experience of participatory democracy to decide the future of the President of the Republic.
According to official data from the INE, 15 million 92 thousand 940 citizens endorsed their support for the administration of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, which represents 91.86 percent of the citizens who attended the consultation.

Meanwhile, one million 52 thousand 79 citizens, chose to remove López Obrador from his position “due to loss of confidence” as defined by the legislation to the revocation of mandate, that is, 6.44 percent of the voters. In addition, 276 thousand 902 invalid votes were registered, 1.68 percent of the total.
The states where support for López Obrador was highest are: Tabasco, with 97.28 percent of votes in his favor; Guerrero, with 95.51 percent of voters; Oaxaca, 94.74 percent; Chiapas, 94.34 percent.
In contrast, the entities where the percentage for the revocation were higher than the national average were: Nuevo León, where 15.48 percent of the voters voted for the revocation; Jalisco, 11.29 percent of citizens for removing López Obrador; Aguascalientes, with 10.86 percent and the ; Mexico City, with 10.35 percent.
