16″ MacBook Pro now supports 140W fast charging via USB-C

Owners of the new 16-inch MacBook Pro (with M3 Pro or M3 Max processors) can enjoy the fast charge to the computer using a 240W USB-C cable. The change is already in place on this Apple support page (not yet updated in your Portuguese version).

With the new feature, fast charging at 140W no longer depends on a USB-C cable for MagSafeas has happened since 2021 (the year that marked the return of the magnetic charging port to Apple portable computers).

The support allows, for example, to recharge the computer with a 140W plug adapter plus a 204W USB-C charging cable — just like the new 2-meter cable launched by Maçã in September. On older or current 14″ MacBooks, fast charging using USB-C ports is limited to 100W.

As announced in 2021, this maximum charging power via USB-C has more than doubled since then, enabling Apple to launch its new 16″ MacBook this year with the new feature.
