A small anniversary was celebrated on June 13, 2023: The 15th edition of the eJournal was published history. to write. Twelve works by students at the University of Innsbruck were published using this medium from the three historical institutes (Ancient History and Ancient Near Eastern Studies, Historical Sciences and European Ethnology, Contemporary History) and made accessible to experts and the public.

The event accompanying the publication, during which the Best Paper Awards were also presented, was traditionally held on the premises of the Wagner’sche bookstore in Innsbruck. The two new additions to the ranks of editors, Stephan Nicolussi-Köhler and Florian Ambach, hosted the evening together with Marina Blum and Maria Gebhard from the student editorial team. Also involved in the organization were the experienced members of the editorial team, Eva Pfanzelter and Eric Burton, as well as Alexander Renner, Andreas Wieser and Florian Maizner from the editorial team.

The consistently high level of interest in history. to write On the part of the students, the 15th edition also showed: there were a total of 31 submissions. Twelve of the student works were able to clear the hurdle of the double-blind peer review process and, after an extensive, multi-stage editing process, made it into the latest edition. All six historical core subjects are represented and the prize-winning contributions range from proseminar to bachelor theses. These best-practice examples are intended to motivate all students not to let their excellent work disappear into a drawer, but to use the opportunity to publish it by submitting it.

Thanks to the financial support of numerous emeriti and retirees, the Faculty of Philosophy and the UNO-Center Austria, Best Paper Awards including prize money could be presented this year to Florian Maizner, Theresa Mösinger, Katharina Föger, Katia Pedevilla and Marcus Dietrich. The prize of the state of Vorarlberg went to Florian Martin Prirsch and the works of Verena Kaiser, Katia Pedevilla and Julia Danler received runner-up awards. This year, the honorable mentions went to Roland Laimer, Verena Hechenblaikner and Jonas Zimmermann. Congratulations again to all authors.
