1,500 light-years away…stunning new images of the “Orion Nebula”

He said: “Next to the Orion Nebula (on its left in the picture) is the De Mairan Nebula, in the middle of which is a huge, bright star, and next to it is the Running Man Nebula, which is a reflection nebula and is characterized by its blue color.
Dr. Farouk explained that the Orion Nebula is huge clouds of gases and dust that result from the explosion of stars. Inside the nebulae, new stars are formed when gravity collects gases and dust together.
He added, “A nebula is located in the constellation of Orion, and it is a diffuse nebula located approximately 1,500 light-years away. It is the closest major star-forming region to Earth.”
He continued, “The winter months are the best time of year to view it when the constellation is visible in the night sky.”
