Shortly following 8 p.m. on Friday evening, a 25-year-old from the Vöcklabruck district reported to the police: Together with his girlfriend, he had just stopped an alcoholic in Zipf. However, the driver ran away and disappeared towards the train station.
That’s where the police found what they were looking for: They met a 15-year-old Romanian from Salzburg, who immediately admitted that he had been behind the wheel of the car – which, however, did not belong to him. According to the 15-year-old, he stole it – and has since thrown away the car keys.
During the course of the investigation, it turned out that the mounted license plates did not belong to the vehicle – which, in addition to the car theft, also resulted in document suppression. The 15-year-old confessed to the allegations and was reported at large.
According to a police spokesman, an alcohol test showed slight alcohol consumption – but less than 0.5 per mille.
