Assault on a Kafr El Zayat doctor

Dr. Bahaa Tawfiq, the head of the Doctors Syndicate in Gharbia Governorate, said that the doctor who was assaulted by the family of a patient inside Kafr El-Zayat General Hospital is in stable condition, and is undergoing medical treatment inside the hospital to check on his condition.
The Doctors Syndicate indicated that it is following the developments of the accident, and the Syndicate intervened from the first moments of the accident and sent the legal advisor to follow up the investigations and developments in the situation.
The family of a patient assaulted the medical staff at the reception department of Kafr El-Zayat General Hospital, affiliated to the Health Directorate in Gharbia, on Thursday, because of a quarrel that broke out during the installation of a cannula for a child, which led to the injury of the medical staff and security personnel.
A source inside Kafr El-Zayat General Hospital said that a family came to the reception department to install a cannula for a sick child, so the nurse invited them to wait outside until the child was finished and the cannula was installed due to the seriousness of his condition, but they assaulted her with insults and insults, and when the medical staff intervened, one of them took out a white weapon. He assaulted the doctor on duty, causing him a wound to the head, which required 15 stitches to his face.
He confirmed that the accident resulted in the injury of a doctor who needed 15 stitches in the face, and a nurse and a security personnel with bruises and abrasions. The police intervened and took the patient’s family to the Kafr El-Zayat police station.
Minutes No. 5703 Kafr Al-Zayat misdemeanour, of the incident, were issued, and the Public Prosecution Office was notified, which ordered all necessary legal measures to be taken regarding the incident.
