15 people were killed in a collision between a bus and a truck in Canada

At least 15 people were killed yesterday in a collision between a semi-trailer truck and a bus in the Canadian province of Manitoba.

According to the foreign news agency “Reuters”, the accident is one of the worst road accidents in Canada’s recent history.

According to the report, the accident happened at the intersection of two major roads near the town of Carberry in southwestern Manitoba, 170 kilometers west of Winnipeg, where passengers on the bus were heading to a casino in Carberry.

“We have been able to determine that at least 15 people have been confirmed dead as a result of this collision,” said Assistant Commissioner Rob Hill, who commands the Manitoba Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

“Sadly, this is a day that will be remembered in Manitoba and across Canada as one of tragedy and incredible sadness,” the assistant commissioner said during the news conference.

He said that there were 25 passengers in the bus, most of whom were elderly, where 10 people were transferred to the hospital with injuries after the accident.

Police said the drivers of both buses are alive and both have refused to admit who was at fault.

Media reports initially identified the vehicle as a van rather than a bus, saying it was operated by Handi Transit, which transports the elderly and disabled.
