Apple’s supply chain has begun stocking the rumored 15-inch MacBook Air, industry sources say quoted DigiTimes. The report says that the laptop is expected to be announced at Apple’s annual developer conference, WWDC, which begins on June 5.

Despite the upcoming launch of the 15-inch MacBook Air, sources believe overall MacBook shipments will likely drop by single digits in 2023 due to a “disappointing” first half. The sources also said that the “momentum” of the 15-inch MacBook Air “wasn’t as strong as previous new products.”

bloombergMark Gurman expects the 15-inch MacBook Air to debut at WWDC. Like the 13-inch MacBook Air, the 15-inch model will be powered by an M2 chip with multiple GPU configurations, according to Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.

No design changes have been announced for the 15-inch MacBook Air other than a larger screen size. The 13-inch model features a notch that houses a 1080p camera, a MagSafe 3 charging port, two Thunderbolt 3 ports, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a scissor keyboard with Touch ID, and a Force Touchpad trackpad.

Sources believe that MacBook shipments might resume in the second half of 2023 if new MacBooks with 3nm chips are released, but Apple’s chip maker TSMC has had performance issues with 3nm technology, so it’s not clear when Apple’s M3 chip will appear. .
