Delhi: The strike by wrestlers at Jantar Mantar in Delhi has entered the 15th day. The players announced in a press conference that the strike will continue. Day and night strike will continue till 21st of this month. A meeting will be held on 21st to decide the future of the strike. They also informed that they will participate in the Asian Games. Rakesh Tikayat and other farmer leaders have come to support the wrestlers. Rakesh Tikayat said he is ready to do anything for our daughters. If there is any difficulty for them, the whole country will stand with them. 5000 people from Khap Panchayats will reach Jantar Mantar tomorrow.
The wrestlers have been protesting day and night for 15 days demanding the arrest of the president of the wrestling federation, Brij Bhushan. Brij Bhushan has not been interrogated till now two weeks following filing the complaint. Actors including Vinesh Phogat stated that they will hold a candle light protest at Jantar Mantar at 7 pm. Delhi Police has since increased security measures. The security was increased in the context of Khap Panchayat leaders reaching Jantar Mantar to express solidarity with the wrestlers. More policemen have been deployed on the borders of Delhi. Khap leaders from Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Rajasthan are coming to the protest site.
