According to the statistics of the Civil Aviation Service, passenger traffic at the airports of Greece showed an increase of 15.7% in February 2024 compared to the corresponding month of 2023.
As can be seen from the statistics, the total number of passengers at the airports (arrivals and departures of foreign and domestic passengers) reached 2,405,625, compared to 2,079,567 passengers in February 2023.
There was also an increase in passenger traffic in the first half of the year with 4,812,426 passengers in 2024, compared to 4,289,160 passengers in the first half of 2023.
In the first two months of 2024, a 12.2% increase in passenger traffic is recorded, compared to the first two months of 2023.
Aircraft movements
In terms of flights (domestic and international aircraft arrivals and departures), based on provisional statistics, in February 2024 there were 22,005 flights, compared to 19,709 flights in 2023, with the air traffic index this year showing an increase of 11.6%, in compared to 2023.
In addition, according to newsit, in the first two months of 2024 there were 44,769 flights, compared to 42,037 flights in the first two months of 2023, with the increase compared to last year reaching 6.5%.
