14,821 law violators were arrested in Saudi Arabia within a week

Jeddah – The Ministry of Interior has announced that 14,821 people have been arrested for violating residence, employment and border security regulations in various parts of Saudi Arabia in a week. The arrests were made during a joint search by various units of the security forces across the country from December 8 to 14.

Among those arrested were 8817 residence violators, 3879 border security violators and 2125 labor law violators. 58% are Yemeni, 39% are Ethiopian and 3% are from other countries. Apart from this, 24 people who were smuggling and sheltering people violating residence and employment rules were also arrested. A total of 45,197 violators are currently being processed for violation of regulations. Out of which 43,099 are male and 2098 are female.

Among them, 34,755 violators were transferred to their diplomatic posts to obtain travel documents. The Ministry of Interior reiterated that those who facilitate the entry of an intruder into the country or provide them with transportation, accommodation or any assistance or service will face up to 15 years in prison and a maximum fine of 1 million riyals.
