Jubail: Within a week, 14,821 people were arrested from different provinces of the country for violating residence and labor laws and border security regulations. The arrest was made during a joint field campaign conducted by various units of the security forces and the General Directorate of Passports (Jawasat) between the 8th and 14th of this month.

Among those arrested, 8,817 were violators of residence rules, 3,879 were violators of border security rules, and more than 2,125 were violators of labor laws. 676 people were caught while trying to enter the country illegally through the border. 58 percent of them are Yemenis, 39 percent are Ethiopians and 3 percent are from other countries.

98 people were caught trying to leave the country. 24 people were arrested for their involvement in smuggling, harboring and concealing violators of residence and labor regulations. A total of 45,197 violators have been processed so far. Out of which 43,099 are male and 2098 are female.
