His mother may have overlooked the car of an oncoming 19-year-old when turning. The teenager was trapped in the car in the collision. Emergency services freed him and the crew of the C16 rescue helicopter flew him to the Graz Regional Hospital, according to the Styrian State Police Directorate.
Collision at intersection
The accident happened at around 8:00 a.m. when the 42-year-old was driving on Gleisdorfer Straße (B65) from Ilz towards Nestelbach. She wanted to turn left at the intersection with the municipal road to Mutzenfeld. At that moment, however, the 19-year-old came towards her. While the driver’s 14-year-old son suffered serious injuries, the woman and the second driver escaped with minor injuries. Both were also taken to hospitals in Graz and Feldbach.
