Dakar, Jul 5 (APS) – The coach of the women’s basketball team, Moustapha Gaye, published on Wednesday a list of fourteen players for the rest of the Afrobasket preparation camp scheduled in Kigali (Rwanda) from July 28 to August 6.

“We had criteria and we were fixed on that. We have taken care of the versatility, the experience. African competitions are tough and if we don’t have the potential, it will be difficult, ”he explained, when publishing the list on which we find Astou Dieng, Aya Traoré and Yacine Diop.

According to him, “the elders like Aya, Fatou and the others are fully playing the leadership role that we need”.

Moustapha Gaye felt that all 19 players deserved to be on the list. “We had to make choices and I think we are on the right track. We have a very good team. I am surprised by the quality of players,” he said.

However, he maintained “that at the level of the objectives, it will be necessary to go slowly. Declarations of intent mean nothing. Winning cannot be decreed. We will defend our chances”.
