Head of State Macky Sall has promoted fourteen members of the National Association of Volunteer Blood Donors of Senegal (ANDOBES) to the National Order of Merit. These men and women carry out actions of communication, sensitization, mobilization of populations, recruitment and retention of voluntary blood donors, according to the Minister of Health and Social Action.
For Marie Khemesse Ngom Ndiaye, “we must pay a deserved tribute in recognition of their contribution to the proper functioning of the health system”.

Moreover, the Minister of Health urged them to continue to invest fully in the construction of a prosperous Senegal with an efficient and resilient health system. For this, there is no mystery, we must keep the torch ever higher in the execution of the missions, notes Marie Khemesse Ngom Ndiaye.
She spoke of “the importance of donating blood and valuing blood donors to encourage others who have never donated blood. We must pay a deserved tribute to blood donors. They are an integral part of the health system, because blood, until yesterday, was not produced anywhere. Blood donors are important and it is not for nothing that a day is dedicated to them. They support public policies and blood is used in several health care cases.

Indeed, “the particularity of those who are decorated today is that the age limit no longer allows them to donate blood, but they continue to mark their presence in the field to supervise young people, participate in the promotion blood donation and support the CNTS and blood transfusion structures in the regions”, explained Thierno Le Compte Seck, President of the association.
