City of Vienna – Libraries take part in the TOMMI Children’s Software Prize 2023
Vienna (OTS) – On October 10th and 13th, gaming-savvy children and young people aged 8 to 16 are invited to play, test and evaluate console games as part of the children’s jury of the TOMMI Children’s Software Prize 2023. This year the Hietzing library is part of the German children’s software award TOMMI. The Children’s software award TOMMI is honoring the best games and digital learning opportunities for children and young people for the 22nd time. First, an expert jury made up of educators, scientists, journalists and education experts determines the nominations. Then it will be the turn of children and young people in around 50 libraries in Germany, Austria and Switzerland to test the games. The award ceremony will take place on Sunday, December 3rd, 2023 at 8 p.m. at KiKA in the media magazine “Team Timster” instead of.
The newly designed Hietzing library on Preyergasse is part of a network of around 50 libraries in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, where the children’s and youth juries make the final decision on the gaming prizes. The city of Vienna – libraries have been offering console games for loan for a long time, and the offering now consists of over 2,000 console games.
