13-year-old hit and injured by ship’s propeller on Lake Wörthersee

The girl was sitting in an electric boat and wanted to climb into the water over the stern. The student got both feet in the propeller. She was taken to the Klagenfurt clinic by the rescue, the police said.

The accident happened around 3 p.m. A 54-year-old drove with three other people in a previously rented electric boat on Lake Wörthersee. In the Maiernigg area, he stopped the boat regarding 300 meters from the shore and threw the anchor in the water. The 13-year-old wanted to go into the water and got caught in the ship’s propeller, which was still turning.
