1:3 – LASK suffered a setback against Hartberg

The chance for revenge is already on Wednesday (6.30 p.m.) in Hartberg.Linz. With the same starting eleven as last weekend in the victory over champions Salzburg, LASK dominated the game. But there was a lack of determination and assertiveness in front of the goal. The only big chance in the first half was emblematic of this, when the athletes acted too awkwardly after winning the ball in the penalty area (5th).

Hartberg tried quick counter-attacks, which often brought danger and, thanks to efficiency, a 2-0 half-time lead. A shot from Donis Avdijaj went wide (3rd), the second shot was spot on. Jürgen Heil looked for Maximilian Entrup with a cross, which the ÖFB striker didn’t reach, but the ball turned into the far corner (22′). Shortly before the break, Entrup stepped up, he let two defenders run into space in the penalty area and scored dryly (44th).

LASK gained hope after 1:2

An unfortunate action by Raphael Sallinger gave LASK hope. The TSV goalkeeper came out of the goal, but too late against Florian Flecker, who scored 1-2 (57th). But the guests from Styria remained the more dangerous team. Entrup was denied by LASK goalkeeper Tobias Lawal (68′), a long-range shot from Avdijaj towards an empty goal missed the target (73′), but then a joker struck. 40 seconds after his substitution, Dominik Prokop scored from close range after a Frieser cross (75th).

LASK, whose fans implemented the announced boycott, has still been without a win against Hartberg since June 2020, or eleven games. The Swiss Whites remain just two points ahead of Rapid in third place, which brings them a place in the Europa League qualification. With its first win in two months, Hartberg moved within one point of Rapid and is once again fully involved in the fight for an international starting place.
