A bridge built at a cost of Rs 13 crore collapsed in Bihar. The incident took place in Begusarai district of Bihar. The bridge collapsed when the approach road was regarding to be inaugurated. It was five years since the bridge was built across the Burhi Gandak river. But it was not opened because there was no road to the bridge.

There was no one on the bridge as the accident happened early in the morning. The part between two-three pillars of the 206 meter long bridge collapsed and fell into the river. Locals said that cracks were noticed in the bridge last day. The construction of the bridge and the road was done by a company named Maa Bhagwati. The construction of the approach road was delayed due to problems related to land acquisition.
