1291 The Swiss Investment Foundation (“1291”) yesterday certified the land for its new construction project in Wil, in the canton of St. Gallen. The transfer of ownership took place therefollowing. With this project of the investment group “Sustainable Real Estate Projects Switzerland”, a residential and commercial building is being built at Untere Bahnhofstrasse 1-11 in Wil, which will in future offer attractive and highly frequented areas for retail, catering and services, with more than 4,500 m2 of rental space on the ground and first floors. Starting from the second floor, more than 100 residential units are planned with a wide mix of accommodation and approximately 7400 m2 of living space.
Located directly next to Wil station, the entire complex will be realized as a 2000 watt site and with Minergie certification. The concept of mobility also encourages the use of public transport. Energy production in the building is ensured by geothermal probes and a heat pump, supplemented by photovoltaic panels and solar collectors on the roofs.

A long-term rental contract has already been signed with Thuravita AG, a well-known service provider in the field of housing for the elderly and retirement and care homes, for approximately one fifth of the future rental areas. Intensive discussions are also underway with other well-known commercial space stakeholders. The sale of the residential areas will take place at a later date.
