The Historical Museum of Vevey (VD) unveils its new exhibition on Thursday in which it revisits part of its collections. About fifty objects, gleaned over the past 125 years, are presented in the form of an alphabet, each piece being classified under a letter.
“Charming adornment, astonishing trinket or funny device, all these objects are linked, directly or indirectly, to the history of Vevey or to the life of its inhabitants”, indicates the museum in its press release.
By revealing itself “from A to Z”, the institution wishes to mark the occasion for its 125th anniversary. It thus invites visitors to immerse themselves in the collections and to (re)discover pieces which, although valuable from a historical point of view, have not always been able to be presented.
The museum promises a walk with “guaranteed eclecticism”, which will allow you to “go back in time to 700 BC and travel to Japan, without ever leaving Vevey”.
