A 12-year-old child arrested in the middle of a road rodeo

Early Thursday evening in Charmes, in the Aisne, the police spotted a driver in the middle of a road rodeo. He had fun doing skids and sudden accelerations in a pasture. They stopped him on his way back to the road and must have been surprised to find he was a 12-year-old child. Her older brother, 13, was in the passenger seat.
The two had not “borrowed” a car. Their uncle had loaned them so “they might have fun”, reports “New Aisne”…
Motorized rodeo is punishable by 2 years in prison and a fine of 30,000 euros when committed in a meeting, which was the case. The child will soon be summoned with his parents to the police station.
“The professionalism and responsiveness of our colleagues certainly made it possible to avoid a tragedy,” commented for News17 David Morel, delegate national secretary of the Alliance Police Nationale Hauts-de-France and Grand Est union. And to consider that “this fact is symptomatic of parental disempowerment”.
