The lightbulbs
Of course, the choice of bulbs is very important depending on the desired effect. Today, LEDs are favored for energy-saving reasons, although some still prefer incandescent lighting.
What you need to know regarding LED
Did you know that LED bulbs promote energy savings between 70% and 90% compared to incandescent bulbs?
In fact, LED bulbs use energy more efficiently than incandescent bulbs, which only use 5% of the energy to produce lighting and the rest as heat.
How to choose your LED bulbs
You will see on the box the terms “lumen” and “kelvins” (K).
The term “lumen” is used to determine the luminous intensity of a bulb. A luminous flux of 400 lumens may be equivalent to more or less 40 watts in the incandescent, while 800 lumens will be similar to 60W and 1600 Lumens to 100W of intensity.
As for the color (warm white or cold white), it is measured in kelvins (K). The higher the number of kelvins, the whiter or colder the light. Conversely, the lower the number of kelvins, the more yellowish or warm the light. If you want a color similar to an incandescent bulb, opt for a 2700 K to 3000 K bulb.
