The Lebanese Army Command – Directorate of Orientation announced, in a statement, that “in continuation of the raid operations that began on 2/16/2023 in the town of Hortala – Bekaa, an army unit, with periodic support from the Intelligence Directorate, arrested 10 citizens and two Syrians, and seized a quantity of drugs, A number of stolen cars, two RPG launchers and hand grenades, in addition to weapons, ammunition, military equipment, stolen license plates, and electronic and cellular devices.
And it stated that “the raid operations had started yesterday and continued until following midnight, and included clashes between the army and the wanted persons, which led to the fall of 3 martyrs and the killing of citizens (A.A.M.), (A.H.M.) and (H.H). M.) is among those who shot the soldiers, and they belong to a very dangerous gang that deals in drug trafficking and promotion.” She pointed out that “the seized items were handed over, and an investigation was launched with the detainees under the supervision of the competent judiciary, and work is underway to arrest the rest of the gang members.”
