TWELVE former US government officials who resigned over Joe Biden’s administration’s policies on the Palestinian Gaza Strip issued a joint statement, calling Biden’s policies a failure and a threat to US national security.
“America’s diplomatic cover and the continued flow of arms to Israel have ensured our undeniable complicity in the killing and starvation of the besieged Palestinian population in Gaza,” they said in a joint statement, reported by Anadolu, Wednesday (3/7).
Biden’s policy was called an act that was not only morally reprehensible and clearly violated international humanitarian law and US law, but also targeted America.
The statement, signed by four former State Department officials, one from the US Agency for International Development (USAID), three from the US military, and four political staff, addressed the Biden administration with policy proposals related to Israel’s war on Gaza. “These harsh policies endanger US national security and the lives of our service members and diplomats as seen with the killing of three US service members in Jordan in January and the evacuation of diplomatic facilities across the Middle East,” they said.
The former officials also said that President Biden’s policies also pose security risks to Americans at home and abroad. They also accused the US administration’s policies of threatening US interests across the region and said that US credibility has been severely damaged.
