12 accused including woman involved in kidnapping of Khalilur Rehman Qamar arrested – Pakistan

Lahore: DIG Operations Zamran Kishor has said that dramatist Khalilur Rehman was honey-trapped and demanded a ransom of 1 crore and 12 accused involved in this case have been arrested.

During the press conference along with drama reporter Khalilur Rehman, he said that the accused kept Khalilur Rehman in custody for 2 hours and he was blindfolded and transferred to Karankanana Sahib.

He said that the accused assaulted Khalilur Rehman and kept demanding money. Khalilur Rehman filed an FIR of the incident on July 20. After the operation, Kalashnikov, SMG, pistol, wireless set were recovered from the accused. .

DIG Organized Crime Unit Imran Kishor said that 12 suspects, including women involved in the incident, have been arrested.

3 vehicles used in the incident, wireless sets, modern rifles, pistols and dozens of bullets have also been recovered from the accused while raids are being conducted to arrest the remaining two accused.

He said that a case was registered in Sunderalhore police station under the provisions of kidnapping and robbery on the request of the well-known dramatist.

Earlier, the statement of the accused Amina Urooj, who framed dramatist Khalilur Rahman Qamar in Lahore, had come out. According to the police, accused Amina Urooj honey-trapped Khalilur Rahman Qamar. The accused is a resident of Gujranwala, used to cheat high profile people and collect money.
