117 new cases and 1 death in the last 24 hours

A total of 117 new cases of infection with the new coronavirus (Covid-19) and 208 recoveries have been recorded in Morocco in the last 24 hours, the Ministry of Health and Social Protection said on Saturday, which reports another death.

In its daily bulletin on the epidemiological situation, the ministry also specified that the number of first-timers reached 24,884,097, that of people who received two doses amounted to 23,375,493 while 6,719,087 people had three injections of the vaccine. The number of people who received the fourth dose is 32,852.

The new infection toll brings the total number of contaminations since the first case reported in Morocco on March 02, 2020 to 1,263,373, while the number of recovered people has increased to 1,245,986, i.e. a recovery rate of 98, 6%.

The new cases of infection were recorded in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (32), Oriental (32), Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceima (16), Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (12), Fez-Meknes ( 10), Souss-Massa (06), Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra (04), Marrakech-Safi (04) and Beni Mellal-Khénifra (01).

The total number of deaths rose to 16,268 (lethality 1.3%), with one new case recorded in 24 hours in the Oriental region.

The active cases number 1,119 while a new severe or critical case has been reported in the last 24 hours, for a total of 40. As for the occupancy rate of intensive care beds, it is 0.8 %.
