The new increase in the covid-19 epidemic in Martinique is confirmed. 11,391 new cases recorded between March 7 and March 13, according to figures published by the ARS on Tuesday March 15, 2022.



According to the Regional Health Agency (ARS Martinique), 11,391 new positive cases were diagnosed on 39 059 tests made between March 7 and 13, 2022 (compared to 7,334 the previous week).

Since the start of the epidemic in March 2020, 135,881 cases have been recorded in Martinique.

Positivity rate: 29.2% (proportion of positive tests on all the analyses).

Incidence rate: 3 175 (number of cases over 7 days per 100,000 inhabitants).

44 patients are being hospitalized dont 8 in critical care.

3 clusters are monitored.

905 deaths have been reported by the CHUM (Centre Hospitalier Universitaire de Martinique) since the start of the epidemic, compared to 900 last week.

Number of people with 2 doses of vaccine: 141,766 or 44.8%.

Number of people who received a booster dose: 84,030 or 26.6%

From March 7 to 13, 2022, the circulation of SARS-CoV-2 intensifies on the territory following the Carnival holidays. The age group with the highest incidence rate is still that of young people and young adults aged 15 to 44 years. At the hospital level, the tension observed for several weeks is still present. The number of emergency visits for Covid-19 is increasing, as well as the number of new hospitalizations. However, a decrease in the number of critical care admissions is observed.
