The government reported on the night of this Monday, January 3, that in the last hours 110 new infections of covid were detected in Venezuela. The Minister of Communication, Freddy Ñáñez, detailed on Twitter that 102 cases are by community transmission and 8 are imported.
According to the data, the community cases andstán ubicados in the following states: Mérida 31; Caracas 19; Miranda 15; La Guaira 9, Yaracuy 8, among others.
Mérida has the highest number of infections in 4 of its 23 municipalities: Libertador 17, Campo Elías 7, Santos Marquina 6, Alberto Adriani 1.

Of the 8 imported cases, Ñáñez said, 3 come from Spain, 3 from Panama and 2 from Colombia, all with entry through La Guaira.
With the new data, we reached 445,082 confirmed cases, 435,097 people recovered, which represents 97% of infections. There are 4,650 active cases, 3,795 are being treated in the public health system and 855 in private clinics.
To date, there are 2,539 patients who are asymptomatic, 1,430 with mild acute respiratory failure, 552 with moderate acute respiratory failure, and 129 in the Intensive Care Unit.
On the other hand, he said that 2 people died to reach 5,335: 1 99-year-old woman and 1 69-year-old man from Caracas.
