11 years in prison for fatally stabbing his mentor during a violent argument –

A young man aged 22 was sentenced to 11 years of criminal imprisonment, by the Criminal Court of Port-Gentil, on April 11, 2024. The accused was tried for the crime of fatally beating his friend, Jeff Jordan K, aged 28 at the time of the facts.

The events took place on the night of December 2 to 3, 2021 at around 9 p.m., in the Transfo district in the area known as Nyahoulet. A violent argument broke out between Tray Marc Ivermo Rotoumba Nguema who was cutting Indian hemp and Mr. Jeff Jordan K, one of his mentors, then the fight broke out. Believing that his opponent had made fun of his girlfriend, 19-year-old Tray Marc projected the light of his cell phone onto his godfather’s face to clearly see who he thought he was dealing with.

Angry following this gesture considered disrespectful, Jeff Jordan slaps his counterpart excessively before a bottle breaks on his head, hit by Jeff’s accomplice. Feeling truly threatened, Tray grabs a knife which he carefully plants in his godfather’s left side, then drags him outside before plunging him into a car wreck.

Seeing his master collapse to the ground in pain, he discovered that the blade remained in the peritoneal part of his victim. The gang leader was taken to the N’tchengué regional hospital, following his executioner decided to flee. The blade housed in the peritoneal part, more precisely between two dorsal vertebrae, requires doctors to intervene quickly. Diagnosis made; the spleen was cut in two and the pancreas affected in the process. Losing nearly three liters of blood, the victim died a day following the act. The arrested accused told investigators that he used the knife only to defend himself and not to kill the latter. Referred and then presented to the bar, he maintained his statements. He was sentenced to 11 years in prison.
