1:1 against Lustenau – Ried is standing still

After the two defeats before the international break, SV Guntamatic Ried scored again away against Lustenau, but the 1-1 draw did not bring the Innviertel team forward in the title race of the 2nd football league: On Sunday, Admira Wacker can increase their lead with a home win against Amstetten expand to five points.

The performance in Bregenz, where Lustenau is moving because of the new stadium, was at least a step forward before the break. Because of Nikki Havenaar’s suspension, coach Maximilian Senft was forced to make changes; against Lustenau, another change was necessary due to Wilfried Eza’s injury: the striker left after a quarter of an hour with groin problems.

Eleven meter foul by debutant Van Wijk

Senft gave Antonio Van Wyk his debut in a game in which Ried had everything under control – until the 20th minute: After losing the ball, things happened very quickly, Seydou Diarra scored to make it 1-0 for the home team.

The goal came out of nowhere. Ten minutes later, Van Wijk made a lot of use of a collision from William Rodrigues in the penalty area. Referee Alain Sadikovski whistled a penalty, Mark Grosse converted to make it 1-1 (31st).

Vorarlberg came closer to victory in the second half, but Ried goalkeeper Andreas Leitner held on to the point until the end.
