105 million! Jaren Jackson Jr. signs contract extension with the Grizzlies

Jaren Jackson Jr. and the Memphis Grizzlies have agreed to a four-year contract extension. This is reported by Adrian Wojnarowski ESPNwho received the information from Jackson Agent Austin Brown.

Jackson Jr. will receive $105 million over four years. The Big Man joined the Grizzlies as a 4th pick from Michigan State in 2018, where he averaged 13.8 points and 1.4 blocks per game in his rookie season.

After 57 games in his sophomore season, Jackson Jr. sustained a meniscus injury from which he didn’t return until the end of last season.

The deal was signed on the day of the 2018 draft rookie extensions deadline, putting Jackson in good company with the likes of Luka Doncic, Trae Young and most recently Mikal Bridges.

The most significant remaining contender for such a contract extension is DeAndre Ayton, whose performance improvement was crucial for the Phoenix Suns’ entry into the NBA Finals.
