Rebound ‘clear’… 3802 more than the previous week
6004 confirmed cases in the metropolitan area and 4198 cases in non-metropolitan areas
As of 9 p.m. on the 1st, more than 10,000 new coronavirus infections (COVID-19) have been confirmed.
According to local governments including Seoul, the number of new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in 17 cities and provinces across the country from 00:00 to 9pm on the same day was 10,202. This is 1218 more people than the 8984 counted at the same time the day before.
It is the first time in 23 days since the 11,411 on the 8th of last month that the number of new confirmed cases exceeded 10,000 in the interim count for the same time period.
As of 9 pm on the 24th, 3,802 more than the 6,400 people counted as of 9 pm on the 24th, a week ago, and 3,802 more than the 6,485 people on the 17th two weeks ago, the increase is clear.
As there is still time left until midnight, when the counting ends, the number of new confirmed cases announced as of 00:00 on the 2nd is expected to increase and record the low 10,000.
The number of new confirmed cases of COVID-19 has slowed since the second half of last week, but it seems to be rebounding this week.
The number of new confirmed cases counted over the past week was 6787 → 6239 → 3,423 → 9894 → 1463 → 9,955 → 9528 by day.
As of 9 p.m. that day, 6004 (58.9%) of the new confirmed cases were confirmed in the metropolitan area and 4198 (41.1%) in non-metropolitan areas.
By region, Seoul 2778, Gyeonggi 2715, Gyeongnam 576, Incheon 511, Gyeongbuk 504, Chungnam 385, Gangwon 313, Daegu 311, Ulsan 311, Busan 298, Daejeon 274, Jeonbuk 274, There were 265 confirmed cases in North Chungcheong, 243 in Jeonnam, 201 in Jeju, 164 in Gwangju, and 79 in Sejong.
