Thiruvananthapuram ∙ 1,000 liters of diesel delivered to Nedumangad KSRTC depot was stolen. When the shortage of diesel was caught, the contractor supplied diesel instead. The employees had earlier complained that the total mileage of the depot was decreasing, but there was no inspection. This news shows that on the one hand the employees are facing non-payment of salaries and on the other hand fraud and embezzlement is taking place in KSRTC.

It has been a long time since the employees started complaining that the quantity of diesel delivered to Nedumangad depot should be checked. It was claimed that the tanker brought by Nedumangad MSP Fuels had 15,000 liters of diesel. When checked, it has only 14,000 litres. 1,000 liters ‘evaporated’. Had it not been discovered, the loss to KSRTC would have been Rs 96,000.
In the past months, complaints were raised that the total mileage of the depot was low. Classes were also organized for mechanics and drivers to teach them how to increase fuel efficiency. It has been a long time since this fraud started and the employees demanded a detailed investigation. The depot authorities give the usual refrain that everything has been communicated to the top.
