Vienna Social Services Promotion & Accompaniment GmbH is celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Center for Development Promotion on Lieblgasse in the 22nd district. This facility, the youngest of four locations, offers specialist diagnostics and interdisciplinary treatment for children with disabilities, neurological and psychiatric illnesses and developmental delays up to the age of 10.
“Our goal is for people with disabilities and/or developmental delays to be able to lead as self-determined a life as possible, which is why the FSW has invested a total of EUR 424 million in the area of assistance for the disabled in 2023 to support this,” says Susanne Winkler, Managing Director of the Social Fund Vienna at the start of the event. “The early support that is offered here in Lieblgasse has a major influence on the future lives of the affected children and their families. “My big thanks go to the dedicated team at Lieblgasse, who do this important work with commitment and professionalism, and to the Vienna social services, which have been an important partner to the FSW and the people of Vienna for many years,” Winkler continued.
Martin Heimhilcher, chairman of the ÖGK regional office committee in Vienna, also congratulates on the anniversary and confirms: “On behalf of the Austrian Health Insurance Fund, I would like to warmly thank all employees of the Center for Development Promotion for their daily commitment and assure that we know exactly what valuable work The work they do every day for children and their families.” District head Ernst Nevrivy also congratulated them on the 10th anniversary at the anniversary celebration.
The centers for development support are outpatient hospitals that ensure comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic care for children. “The concept of their success consists of specialist diagnostics, interdisciplinary teams and multi-dimensional care for the children,” explains the President of the Vienna Social Services, Gabriele Votava.
In the centers for development support, the Vienna social services rely on the expertise of highly qualified specialists, including experienced child and adolescent psychiatrists and pediatricians. They form the backbone of the interdisciplinary teams. “In addition to diagnostics and treatment, the offering at the Centers for Development Promotion includes occupational therapy, curative education, speech therapy, music therapy, physiotherapy, psychology, psychotherapy, social counseling, therapeutic riding and animal-assisted therapy,” explains medical director Martina Schorkopf, who moderated the exciting morning.
The centers for development support are supported by the Vienna Social Fund and the Austrian Health Insurance Fund.
The Vienna Social Services are leading providers of social services in Vienna and have been providing a wide range of services for people with disabilities, seniors, people with limited health or social risks and their families for more than 75 years.
