The July 21 festivities will have a special flavor this year on the occasion of the ten years of King Philippe’s reign. In Brussels, activities will multiply this Friday to celebrate Belgium and this special anniversary for the current monarch.
After the Te Deum this Friday morning, the military parade and the festivities in the Royal park, the national holiday will end at 9 p.m. in the Cinquantenaire park with the Happy Belgium concert, bringing together various Belgian artists such as Ozark Henry, Axelle Red, Loïc Nottet, RORI and Mentissa.
The show will be presented by Joëlle Scoriels (La Une), Peter Van de Veire (VRT 1), Volker Krings (BRF) and Kat Kerkhofs (Play4).
A laser show as well as the traditional fireworks will take place at the same place at 11 p.m.
Practical information
The festivities will begin at Parc du Cinquantenaire at 7 p.m. The show will begin at 9 p.m.
Entrance to the park will only be via two entrances: the main entrance will be at rue de la Loi and a second entrance is accessible on the south side of the park at the corner of avenue d’Auderghem. According to the organizers, “the entire part of the park located between the arcades and the Mérode entrance will be closed to the public. A specific entrance to the park (via avenue des Nerviens) will be provided for people with reduced mobility, as well as a dedicated area, set up near the stage.
