The Official Gazette of the Federation (DOF) published on Wednesday the decree for regularize cars chocolate through administrative facilities and incentives in 10 states, which do not have a document that proves their legal stay in the country.
The measure will allow the regularization process to be carried out for vehicles that as of October 19, 2021 were in Baja California, Baja California Sur, Chihuahua, Coahuila, Durango, Michoacán, Nayarit, Nuevo León, Sonora and Tamaulipas.
The agreement establishes as a requirement that “the model year of the vehicle is eight or more years prior to the one in which the definitive import is made”, and that they cannot be imported by this means. luxury or sports vehicles.
The DOF indicates that they may not be subject to this benefit units that do not comply with the “physical-mechanical or environmental protection conditions” established by federal or local regulations.
Nor can they be regularized automobiles that have been reported as stolen or that are related to the commission of a crime in an investigation file or criminal proceeding, states the agreement.
It should be noted that to carry out the procedure it will be necessary for the unit to physically present itself to the customs authorities.
The decree establishes that vehicles used in the following terms may not be definitively imported into the national territory:
- That due to its characteristics or technical aspects its circulation in the country of origin or in Mexico is restricted or prohibited.
- That the vehicle to be imported is luxury or sports (referred to in Annex 2 of the Resolution that establishes the Mechanism to Guarantee the Payment of Contributions on Merchandise subject to prices estimated by the Ministry of Finance) or armored vehicles
- That do not comply with the physical, mechanical or environmental protection conditions, in accordance with the applicable federal or local provisions.
- That have been reported as stolen or are related to the commission of a crime in an investigation file or criminal proceeding
