10 sandals with heels, laces and straps for Spring/Summer 2022

We mightn’t wait to show off our legs (with the very short miniskirts) and also our feet with sandals and the last pedicure with colored enamels, perhaps wearing some rings between the fingers like the ones we saw at Burberry. It’s official, the season of sandals has arrived and we have created the definitive map of trends for the Spring/Summer 2022. There is a lot of nostalgia for the past, with reference to the 90s and 2000s: in our shoe collection we will find flip flops with heels but also very high espadrilles or -as a counterpart- platform models to ‘gain’ a few centimeters. They will give the nostalgia effect crab sandalsthe nice plastic shoes that we all wore to jump from one rock to another (obviously in an updated version, either in leather or with colored crystals).

All the hottest novelties in the world of sandals

If the gladiators are confirmed as protagonists, you will discover models with synthetic hair as an enveloping touch. The smooth texture also coats the clogsrecovered from the 70s to complete the contemporary ensembles.

soft sandals

This trend is a true oxymoron: if the sandals reveal the foot, a soft fur covers the sole, offering an image that is as fun as it is furry to the shoes, as we saw on the Aluzar and Bottega Veneta runway.

a bathroom of nostalgia

Imagine having a bucket in one hand and a net in the other, while you are standing to jump from one rock to another, in full exploration and you have colorful fisherman style plastic sandals, better known as crab sandals. The nostalgia effect is guaranteed, but the stylists interpret them with style: here is Versace imagining them with high heels and precious details, while Max Mara proposes a minimalist model in leather.

Oriental-inspired platform sandals

The very high platform soles enhance the figure without skimping on comfort: here the flat sandals are reissued inspired by the oriental tradition. The interior is given over to color to create an exotic pattern, while brands like Tod’s offer a leather variant with maxi rubber.

Already seen in the 70s, platform sandals and now revisited in an extreme key, are perfect for party girls.

Flip flops not only for the beach

The trend was relaunched by Kim Kardashian, with transparent thong-like heels for a nude look. Since 2019, these street shoes have done much to become the symbol of contemporary minimalist style, especially in its soft version (Iro). The return of the 90s slippers should not be underestimated either: particularly loved by Generation Z, Coperni has played on the nostalgia effect with models with platform soles to be worn under very light trousers with a shiny effect or colored mini skirts.
