O Instagram is one of the most used applications, by all generations, currently – competing users with other giants, such as TikTok, which became popular more recently, and some older apps, such as Facebook and Twitter itself. But, did you know that there is a Brazilian finger in the creation of Instagram? The app was created in 2010 by American Kevin Systrom and Brazilian Mike Krieger. Since then, it has developed, was acquired by Facebook and continues to multiply the number of followers and likes around the world.
Far beyond sharing simple images, its initial premise, Instagram today is a veritable universe of tools – the most varied. One of the most recent resources has a connection, including, with one of the biggest rivals. Reels was launched in early August 2020, inviting users to create fun videos, with tools for recording and editing images, with audio and effects. If it reminded you of TikTok, it’s probably because the company felt threatened by the other app, incorporating parts of the rival to ensure that users don’t migrate to other apps.
This tool is combined with several other resources to create a business: following all, today, two of the great attractions of the social network are companies that use the app as a showcase, and even as a virtual store, and sponsored posts. Both aspects ensure quick and even simpler access to various products and services, making life easier for those who are in tune with social networks.
In July 2021, the company also launched the Instagram Shop: a new destination in Explore that aims to make it easier to buy products from brands and content creators. The tool promises to help profiles discover the latest trends and receive personalized recommendations, all in one place.
A large part of this business is sponsored publications, already widely disseminated on the platform and trademarks of the profession created exclusively for this purpose: the famous digital influencers (or digital influencers, in plain English). Professionals who were “created” with the aim of presenting products and services on networks – and especially on Instagram. One of the biggest personalities on the social network, Kylie Jenner, for example, earns more than $ 1 million monthly with posts on Instagram – all of this using the tools and followers she accumulates on the network.
And as Brazilians are always on top of news, what is success and especially what can earn money, there are big names of digital influencers in the country. Some, mainly artists, are among the most followed on the social network in Brazil. Neymar, who is a soccer player and squanders sponsorships, leads the ranking in Brazil. Check below the other Brazilians who have the highest number of followers on the social network! The data were obtained on the day February 03, 2023.
