Automakers are introducing dozens of new EVs of various shapes, sizes and prices in 2024, following the ongoing business impact of the Corona epidemic slowed vehicle development and production.
In this context, a list prepared by the American organization Consumer Reports includes an increasing number of SUVs and small trucks, in a summary of some of what is worth monitoring in the next two years. Such as:
1 – Acura ZX (between 60 and 75 thousand dollars)
Acura has a modern electric vehicle that looks ready to take on its established competitors. Like the Honda Prologue, the ZDX is being developed jointly with General Motors, sharing much of its platform with the Cadillac Lyriq.
The ZDX A-Spec version is available with single or dual electric motors producing an estimated 340 horsepower. The performance-oriented Model S has dual electric motors with 500 horsepower and a range of regarding 288 miles. All versions use a 102 kWh battery.
2 – Avila Sedan (price not yet determined)
Honda has launched a joint venture with Sony to produce battery electric vehicles, under the Afeela brand. The first prototype, shown at CES in January 2023, features an abundance of electronics.
Sony Honda Mobility announced that orders will begin in 2025, with deliveries scheduled for 2026.
3 – Chevrolet Equinox (between 30 and 48 thousand dollars)
Chevrolet continues its electric push with the Equinox EV small SUV, which will be offered in two flavors: front-wheel-drive versions with 210 horsepower with a range of 250 to 300 miles, and all-wheel-drive versions with 290 horsepower with a range of 280 miles.

4 – Chevrolet Silverado EV (between 39 and 105 thousand dollars)
It’s built on GM’s unique Ultium platform, unlike the popular gasoline- and diesel-powered Silverado minivans with which it shares the name.
It has a lot in common with the GMC Hummer EV Pickup, including four-wheel steering and an adaptive air suspension.
Priced at $105,000, the top-of-the-line RST First Edition model is geared toward performance and luxury, and GM says it will hit 60 mph in less than 4.5 seconds.
5 – DeLorean Alpha 5 ($250,000)
DeLorean has returned to the future with an all-new electric vehicle concept that foretells a production model. It is a 4-seater performance car, with gull doors and accelerates to 88 mph in 4.35 seconds.
The Alpha5 will be followed by the Plasmatail, a shooting brake version – think hatchback. The company stated that the cars will be followed by four-wheel drive vehicles.
6 – Fiat 500e (between 29 and 34 thousand dollars)
The ultimate small car is on sale in Europe, and is expected to return to the US in 2024 as an electric-only vehicle.
It retains the 500’s original charm and compact size, along with its small rear seat and luggage area.
7 – Fisker Ocean (between 37.5 and 68.9 thousand dollars)
Fisker is preparing to return to the car market following being absent for nearly a decade, with its all-new Ocean electric car.
The features likely to generate buzz are the optional sun roof, and a 17-inch central touchscreen that can be rotated in a horizontal or vertical orientation, what Fisker calls “California Mode,” which lowers all the windows and retracts the roof panel at the touch of a button to create a By convertible cars.
8 – GMC Sierra EV ($50,107,000)
Based on the GM Ultium platform shared with the Hummer EV, the Sierra EV will launch as an innovative, premium 6-figure pickup truck.
Over time, GMC will offer lower models at more attainable prices, with the base price dropping to $50,000.
9 – Honda Accord (between 48.8 and 59.3 thousand dollars)
Honda will launch its all-new Prologue electric SUV in 2024, similar to the already announced Acura ZDX.
Developed in conjunction with General Motors, the automaker describes it as an adventure-ready vehicle with a long 121.8-inch wheelbase and passport-like size.
Honda estimates the front-wheel-drive EX will have an EPA driving range of 300 miles.
All-wheel drive is available, but range estimates for these versions are not available. The cabin features an 11-inch digital instrument panel and an 11.3-inch infotainment screen, both of which resemble tablets, rather than being integrated into the dashboard design.
10 – Jeep Recon (price not yet determined)
The Jeep Recon looks like the next generation Wrangler designed to compete with the Ford Bronco and Land Rover Defender.
To prepare it for adventure, the Recon has a power axle lock for enhanced traction, driver-selectable modes to dial in the capabilities of different environments, and underbody protection.
