Midjourney, Stable Diffusion, Leonardo… Generative AIs converting text into images (or “text-to-image”) have qualities that no longer need to be demonstrated. Each competes in creativity, precision of the image, richness of settings and characters.
However, there is a poor relation: the texts. Whether it’s Midjourney or Dall.e 2 and other flagships of the genre, when you add a few words in quotation marks with the instruction to produce an artistic form, the result is usually catastrophic. For reasons that are difficult to understand, the text-to-image find there their main Achilles heel.
Little by little, the situation is improving and we are starting to see apps appear that emerge elegantly from the operation, notably Ideogram, which we present below. However, as you know, even these apps are not immune to some quirks and, very often, you will have to generate a request several times before obtaining something decent. The fact remains that major progress has been made and it is now possible to create very beautiful logos using generative AI.
Here are the applications that we have selected in this area and some of them – the first on the list – are really good. Each time, we asked to create a “Futura” logo while sometimes specifying a particular context (fantastic, illustration, neon, etc.). This is what we got
Ideograms
Ideogram is clearly the star of the lot. This application can produce very beautiful images, but also include text panels of all kinds within them: slogans, slogans, etc. If you want to settle for a logo, Ideogram offers sometimes stunning creations.
Let it be said, however: even this star of the field is not immune to a few errors and it will therefore sometimes be necessary to try several times before obtaining correctly spelled words. The fact remains that we have often been charmed by his proposals.
Stable Diffusion XL 1.0
Version 1.0 of Stable Diffusion XL surprised more than one, and we asked ourselves the question: has Midjourney been dethroned? For the record, Midjourney had until then shone with a quality of production that no competitor might match. However, Stable Diffusion XL 1.0 is equal to and sometimes surpasses Midjourney in some situations. In particular, it is much better at representing texts in a spectacular way even if, once more, you often have to do it several times. In any case, we put Stable Diffusion XL to the test in numerous situations and it performed brilliantly overall.
Illusion AI
You have to be patient with Illusion AI and be persistent before it produces letters spelled correctly. We have found the solution: it is important to specify “correctly spelled” in the wording of your prompt. From there, it is possible to obtain beautifully crafted shapes.
Adobe Firefly
Adobe has been offering, since spring 2023, a very nice suite of artificial intelligence tools: Firefly. Among these tools, there is a “Text Effects” module which offers models of all kinds:
drop of golden liquid; snake skin; psychedelic 3D; etc.
From there, you will obtain an impressive representation of the desired text, but not within a setting. You can just influence a few options (font, thickness, etc.). It will therefore be necessary to create the background in parallel and assemble the two images using a tool such as Photoshop.
Night Cafe
Night Cafe is an application that can work with several “models” while offering a huge number of house styles: artistic portrait, surrealist, cyberpunk… If we take care to rely on the Stable Diffusion XL model, it is then possible to obtain highly original representations integrating the text of your choice.
AI Picasso
Here we are dealing with an app running on smartphones and tablets. You might as well know: it rarely produces the desired result and you have to be patient. Note that the “cyberpunk” model has produced good effects in terms of generating artistic text.
Brandmark
This logo generator essentially asks you to describe the brand for which you want to obtain a visual (in English) and to choose a color palette. From there, it generates a fairly impressive number of logos: with each click on the right, a new template appears. Each of them is distinguished by a beautiful aesthetic.
You must then pay $25 to obtain the corresponding file, or $65 for an editable file in several formats (business card, letterhead, etc.)
His logo
This application is very easy to use and, what’s more, accessible in French. In addition to the text to represent, you are asked to choose icons and a color palette. Logopony does the rest, offering various models on black or white backgrounds.
