Columnist Kim Bang-hee, the host of KBS 1 Radio’s ‘Sense of Sense of Success I’m Kim Bang-hee’, got off the show following being found guilty of habitual drunk driving.

KBS said, “We apologize to the listeners,” and “we will do our best to thoroughly verify the individual performers when hiring radio hosts in the future so that they do not get off due to unsavory reasons.”
On the morning of this morning, the Shinjeon Guk University Student Representatives Association (Shinjeondaehyeop), a university student group, revealed the drunk driving records of KBS and MBC public broadcasting radio hosts, including columnist Kim Bang-hee and former Justice Party secretary-general attorney Shin Shin-sik.
First, in the case of Mr. Kim, a one-year prison sentence was confirmed by the Supreme Court in June 2017 for driving without a license. According to the ruling, Mr. Kim drove a car in Yeouido, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul in May 2016 with a blood alcohol level of 0.151%, which exceeded the license revocation standard.
Mr. Kim’s drunk driving is habitual. In May 2011, he was fined 1.5 million won for drunk driving, and in October 2013, he was fined 3 million won for drunk driving. Not only this, but also in November 2014, he was sentenced to 8 months in prison and 2 years probation for drinking and driving without a license. During his probation period, he was once more caught drunk driving without a license and was sentenced to one year in prison.
Lawyer Shin, who currently hosts MBC current affairs radio ‘News High Kick’, was fined 6 million won in total for drinking and driving without a license four times from 2006 to 2007. voluntarily resigned from
Attorney Shin said at the time, “Driving without a license in 2006, the driver at the time became incapacitated due to diabetes and kidney failure, and I, the passenger, had no choice but to drive without a license.” It was to meet the lecture time,” he explained.
Gun Kim, co-chairman of Shinshin Daehyeop, insisted, “KBS host Kim Bang-hee is an ex-convict who was arrested for drunk driving on three occasions.” He continued, “In the case of the new host, he was found guilty of drunk driving and driving without a license in the past, but public broadcaster MBC recruited him as a host.” These groups urged, “Immediately pursue a large-scale verification of the qualifications of public broadcasting members.”
